Use case · iPad

Your agent keeps working. Your iPad just attaches.

A real tmux or zellij session on a Linux box hosted in France. Your agent runs there on your own keys. The iPad attaches; the agent and the session never ran anywhere but the box.

What just happened, exactly

The session is a standard tmux or zellij session that never depended on your device. Close the iPad app, lose wifi on the train, reattach from the same line of output.

Diagram of one unbroken session line over time. Above it, three device connections, laptop then iPad then phone, each ending in a disconnect mark. The session line underneath runs continuous through every disconnect.

Known limits

iPad screens cap long edit sessions; most people review and nudge from the iPad and do the heavy work at a desk. mosh's UDP is what strict corporate networks block; plain SSH usually passes, and on the rare network that blocks both, the fix is a word with IT, not a trick from us.

It runs your agent, on your keys

Permia sells the environment and the hosting, never the model. Your keys, your account, no markup. If a vendor nukes your account or quietly lowers your limits, you swap keys and keep the session. Agents move. The environment stays.

The objection

You could build this on a 5 euro VPS. Plenty of devs do.

A VPS with tmux, mosh and your agent works. For one person with low stakes it wins on price, and we will not pretend otherwise.

What the DIY stack does not give you:

  • the session that crashes at 3am with nobody watching
  • backups that are actually verified
  • hardening that stays maintained while you bill clients
  • a DPA your VPS will never give your client (read ours →)
  • someone accountable at 11pm

Every hour spent futzing with the box is an unbillable hour. The hard part is an attach that still works from a train with one bar of signal.

If this is your Tuesday

“Your agent died when the lid closed. Again.”

The session runs on the box; iPad, phone and PC just attach.
